MinShadingSize is a real number limiting the minimum size of a feature in a shfill.
It is useful for all shfills and units are default user space.
The PostScript setsmoothness/currentsmoothness and PDF /SM gstate parameters set the desired color accuracy. How this is achieved depends very much on the output device; there is no best method for all output devices.
The MinShadingSize user parameter now controls the minimum area across which a smooth transition will be attempted.
This parameter has a minimum effective bound of the device resolution. With higher values of MinShadingSize, blends can be made faster, though they will not be as detailed and will not be as accurate at representing non-linear functions.
