Menu and Indicator Bar

This section describes the Smart Media Manager menus and status indicators.

File Menu Option	Description
New Media...	Creates a new media with default values.
Open from controller...	Available when Smart Media Manager has a valid OPC UA connection to Smart Print Controller. Select a media entry from the controller to download and import it.
Open Media...	Loads an SMD file from disk. Use this when no controller connection is available, or when the media file is stored locally.
I,port media from configuration...	Imports an SMD file from a device configuration file on disk. Can only be used when no controller connection is available.
Save media	Saves changes to the currently open local SMD file.
Save media as...	Saves the SMD file to a selected location.
Save to controller	Saves the current media to the connected Smart Print Controller.
Export to configuration...	Exports the current media to a device configuration file on disk. Can only be used when no controller connection is available.
Preferences	Opens the Preferences dialog. Use it to select the scanning device, configure dot gain settings, choose measurement units, set target dimensions and copies, control auto-printing, and configure PrintFlat options.
Exit	Closes Smart Media Manager.

Help Menu Options	Description
View log...	Opens the application log. Use it to review system activity and troubleshoot issues.
Create Support Package...	Creates a support package. The package contains information needed to help diagnose an issue.
About	Opens the About dialog, which shows the Smart Media Manager version.

Indicator Bar

The indicators are shown from left to right.

Indicators	Description
Output indicator	Displays the output currently configured in Smart Print Controller.
External Control indicator	Shows whether External Control is enabled in SPC. Green means External Control is enabled. Red means External Control is disabled. Printing to the press is not possible while External Control is disabled.
Connection indicator	Shows whether Smart Media Manager is connected to Smart Print Controller. Green means connected. Red means disconnected. Right-click the indicator to open a menu for connecting to the controller.
