The Measure Color panel lets you measure and compare two Lab colors. A color can come from a printed sample measured with a connected spectrophotometer, or from a Central Color Library.
The Delta E value between the two colors is displayed above the color preview. Smart Media Manager uses the Delta E method selected in the Preferences dialog.
To measure a sample, ensure your spectrophotometer is connected, then click the "Measure Color" button.
This launches ColorLogic Measure Tool, the same tool used during ICC profile creation. After you measure the color, the Lab value appears on the right.
To pick a sample from a Central Color Library, click Select from Central Color Library. This opens a dialog where you can select one Lab color from the installed Central Color Libraries. These are found in the location configured by Smart Print Controller’s Central Spot Color Library setting.
To copy a measured Lab value, click the clipboard icon below either patch. The copied Lab value, along with the text entered in the corresponding Description field, can then be pasted into other controls that support Lab input, such as the Spot Editor.
