Measure Color
This panel allows you to measure and compare two Lab colors from either a printed sample using a connected spectrophotometer, or from a Central Color Library.
The DeltaE between the two colors is displayed above the color display. This will obey the DeltaE type chosen in the Preferences dialog.
To measure a sample, ensure your spectrophotometer is connected, then click the "Measure Colour" button.
This will launch ColorLogic’s Measure Tool—the same tool used during ICC profile creation. Once you measure the color, the Lab value will appear on the right.
To pick a sample from a Central Color Library, click the “Select from Central Color Library” button. This will open a dialog to allow you to pick one Lab color from any Central Color Library installed, those found in the location dictated by Smart Print Controller’s “Central Spot Color Library” setting.
To copy a measured Lab value, click the clipboard icon below either patch. The copied Lab value, along with the text entered into the corresponding Description text box, can then be pasted into other controls where a Lab input is supported (e.g. in the Spot Editor).
