Linux - Installing Meteor (internal Only)

SPC setup

To use Meteor on Windows or Linux, SPC must have the MeteorUIPlugin installed.

Changes to SPC config Files

NOTE: make a new example .sdc it’ll be a more reliable way to check the Meteor installation works before moving to real hardware.

ConfigFiles/Meteor_Default.cfg

Update the SimFilePath to point to a Linux friendly location
SimFilePath = "../SimFiles"

This should work for both Linux and windows and creates the SimFiles folder in SPCHD, so is visible from the remote SPC PC.

ConfigFiles/Meteor_Output_Plugin.json

Change the value of SPDHost

"SPDHost": true,

This is platform dependent, and should be false for Windows.

This is needed because on Meteor on Linux does not allow a secondary application to host the Print Engine

Start.sh

Add MeteorRouter, this is missing from the Linux script.

An example file is attached to the support ticket referenced on this page (SDFE-2869)

Install Meteor

Meteor installation should be done by whatever process Meteor recommend, GGS is not responsible for the installation of Meteor software.

For internal GGS use there is a shell script attached to this page that will install Meteor, be aware that the script has explicit references to release numbers in the code so this would need to be changed to match the release to install before running.
