Sometimes it’s useful to remove screening during testing, perhaps to see if a visual effect is a result of screening or some other factor.
This should only be done for devices that can support contone, for example TIFF
This is achieved by simply removing the ‘Screening' and ‘Packing’ elements from the HarlequinDirect pipeline.
The sample 'Default - KCMY.sdc' shipped with SPC has the following line:
JSON
"Stages": "\\\"Annotation_Plugin.dll\\\"[2]|\\\"Screening_Plugin.dll\\\"[4]|\\\"Pack_Plugin.dll\\\"[2]|\\\"Tiff_Output_Plugin.dll\\\"[1]\"",
For contone output, this should be change to:
JSON
"Stages": "\\\"Annotation_Plugin.dll\\\"[2]|\\\"Tiff_Output_Plugin.dll\\\"[1]\"",
It is strongly recommended that if contone is required for testing it is added as a new HarlequinDirect.json file option using the SmartDeviceConfigurator.
