The raster manager API may be enabled or disabled using the ripfarm_config.json configuration file. By default, the raster manager API is disabled, so that simple evaluation and testing of the Scalable RIP does not require a DBE to consume pages. The raster manager API may be enabled by changing the value of the UseRasterManager parameter to true.
