Varieties of input plugin

This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; and to Harlequin MultiRIP but not Harlequin Core

There are four kinds of input plugin:

1. Those providing the RIP with Page Description Language jobs.

2. Those implementing PostScript language filters.

3. Those implementing asynchronous actions, providing the ability to run restricted jobs during the interpretation of other PostScript language jobs.

4. Those implementing progress devices, receiving and displaying information about jobs currently underway.
